Sade - Soldier of love

Soldier of Love is only the sixth studio album the band Sade have released during their 25 year career, and the first since Lovers Rock in 2000. The band's music features elements of R&B, soul, jazz, funk and soft rock. The band is named after their British Nigerian lead vocalist, Sade Adu.

Sade's debut album, Diamond Life, went Top Ten in the UK. In late 1984 and sold platinum. In 1986, Sade won a Grammy for Best New Artist. The group is well known especially in the older generations but they are still known now. The UK Grime artist Bashy shouted Sade Adu out in his single ‘Black Boys’.

After 10 years, Sade have released an album of mellow songs and Sade’s reason for this: "I only make records when I feel I have something to say. I'm not interested in releasing music just for the sake of selling something. Sade is not a brand." Sade’s new album has a mixture of different sounds which go great with her unusual and interesting voice. My mum told me about how she liked Sade back in the day so I decided to download the song Smooth Operator for her but I liked the song so much, I probably listened to it much more than she did. I really enjoyed listening to the group but the problem was, I thought I was the only one so I was pleasantly surprised to hear the song The Moon And The Sky from her new album on Choice Fm. I also heard a few of my friends and Mr Strickland singing one of the group’s most famous song: Smooth Operator. Sade performed on Friday night with Jonathon Ross on the 26th of February.

The songs in the new album are really nice to listen to if you’re in a nice relaxing mood but I have to say Soldier of Love isn’t the best but it’s pretty good if you want to be slightly different but don’t worry, you won’t be too strange because I’m sure we will be hearing a lot more of her new album of Choice Fm.
