The Resistance is Muse’s 5th studio album and was officially released in Europe on the 14th of September 2009.
This album has a more Queen influence compared to their earlier Radiohead influenced albums. This is shown in the songs “Resistance” and “United States Of Eurasia / Collateral Damage”.
The album also has a classical feel to it shown in the songs “Exogenesis: Symphony part 1, 2 and 3”. The first track- “Uprising”, the first track to be released- is a stomping, up-tempo song, which has a drive that none of the other songs has.
The song “I Belong To You” was used in the sound track for the movie “new moon. The song is both up beat and haunting at the same time, with a bit of Spanish feel. But that wasn’t the only Muse song to be used in a twilight movie; “Super Massive Black Hole” was featured in the first twilight movie.
This album is a revelation in alternative rock and Matt Bellamy’s song writing has never been better.
You can’t Resist the Resistance!!!
Awesome!!!
