Speaker of the House praises The Compton School
John Bercow, Speaker of The House of Commons, paid tribute to staff and students of The Compton School during a recent visit to his old school grounds.
Mr Bercow, a former pupil of Finchley Manorhill School - the previous school on the site of The Compton School - said it was the first time he had re-visited the school since leaving in 1981.

Speaking at The Compton School’s Graduation Evening on Monday 1st February, Mr Bercow applauded the school's outstanding success since it's opening in 1992.
In front of an audience of students, staff, parents and governors, Mr Bercow said: “The Compton gained top grades in every conceivable category in its last OFSTED Inspection and has gone from strength to strength since then.”
He also paid tribute to the inspirational leadership of the headteacher, Teresa Tunnadine and spoke of how impressed he was by the positivity and maturity of all the students receiving their certificates.
