Our aim is to give you an idea of what The Compton is like as a school. The Compton is a mixed multi-ethnic 11-16 neighbourhood school in Finchley which, as an outstanding school, became one of the first schools nationally to convert to Academy status in January 2011. It is an extremely popular school and is massively oversubscribed as the school of choice for many parents in Barnet (nearly 1000 applicants for 180 places for September 2011) We have a reputation for academic excellence, outstanding pastoral care and for providing a positive environment in which all students thrive. Parents know that if their children come here they will be joining a strong caring community where everyone can be sure of support and encouragement at all times.
